The Itinerary

The Sunshine Coast, paradoxically unreachable by road from the rest of BC, links to Vancouver via a 40-min ferry between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale. Mild climate, hidden beaches and island vibe.

Gibsons (filming location of "The Beachcombers"), Sechelt (peninsula centre), Roberts Creek (hippie village) and Pender Harbour pace the coast. The Sunshine Coast Trail (180 km) draws hikers. Activities: sea kayaking, scuba diving (some of the world's best temperate waters), salmon fishing.
