The Itinerary
Hope, at the mouth of the Fraser Canyon, is one of BC's prettiest small towns. Nicknamed the "chainsaw carving capital" (75+ wood sculptures), it stood in for the first Rambo film (1982).
The Othello Tunnels — old Kettle Valley Railway tunnels through the Coquihalla River gorge — are a spectacular site: 4 tunnels carved into granite, bridges over the river, easy 3.5-km trail. Bridal Veil Falls (nearby) and Hope-Princeton Hwy (Manning Park) offer follow-up trips.
