The Itinerary

The Fraser Valley east of Vancouver is BC's "breadbasket": 80% of the province's agricultural production comes from this fertile plain ringed by coastal mountains. The Circle Farm Tour (Abbotsford-Chilliwack-Agassiz-Harrison-Mission) features 70+ year-round farms.

Abbotsford, a flower town (Tulip Festival in April), hosts Krause Berry Farms (200+ products), Singletree Winery and BC Hop Co. Mount Lehman Winery and Backyard Vineyards round out the wine circuit. In Chilliwack, the summer Sunflower Festival draws 80,000 visitors in a few weeks (August).

Harrison Hot Springs (already covered as an existing road trip) marks the east limit. Highway 7 Lougheed (north Fraser side, more rural) gives a scenic return option. For aviation fans: the Abbotsford Airshow each August, one of the world's largest. Mount Cheam (2,107 m) overlooks the valley — signature but exposed hike.
