The Itinerary
Wells Gray Provincial Park, nicknamed the "Waterfall Park," holds over 40 spectacular falls, including Helmcken Falls — 141 m drop (almost three times Niagara), ranked among the world's most beautiful waterfalls.
From Kamloops, take the Yellowhead Hwy (5 north) to Clearwater, then the park road. Helmcken Falls is viewable from a drive-up overlook. Other must-sees: Dawson Falls, Spahats Falls, Murtle Lake. The park preserves young volcanism (visible lava cones). Abundant wildlife: moose, black bears.
